September 30, 2002. Burlington, Ontario, Canada.
Saffeine Research is pleased to announce a new version of their flagship product, 'Saffeine', which provides a unique feature-driven licensing technique; eliminates the necessity of built-in license check and validation logic; and offers a superior solution by providing license management and code protection in one product.
Based on customer's feedbacks and requirements and as a result of more than six month of research and development efforts, 'Saffeine' 2.0 marks a significant move of the unique software product licensing and code protection technology, which was introduced in the first release of the product, to the server-side Java.
With 'Saffeine' 2.0, developers of embedded and J2EE components now have the powerful tool to protect their investments and development efforts. All the unique licensing and code protection features, introduced in the first version of 'Saffeine', are now available for server-side and plugin components.
'Saffeine' 2.0 supports all the flavors of J2EE components: RMI, Servlets, EJB 1 and 2. It is tested with a wide range of the application servers and servlet containers, from the industry standard BEA WebLogic, WebSphere and JRun to popular Open Source implementations, such as JBoss, Orion, Resin and Apache Tomcat.
Without changing the existing code or embedding the license management logic into already released code, developers may use the power of feature-driven licensing for either new or existing J2EE applications, as well as a wide range of plugin components for JBuilder, Together/J, IDEA, Eclipse, Forte for Java and other tooling platforms.
The new version is fully compatible with the latest Java Cryptography Extension specification and JDK 1.4.1.
With 'Saffeine', software vendors can tighten their asset and revenue management; simplify product distribution; and furthermore eliminate the need for developers to spend time designing more sophisticated licensing logic. 'Saffeine' represents an opportunity to recognize significant product development cost reductions as well as Intellectual Property protection.
A limited evaluation version is immediately available from the company's web site http://www.saffeine.com/.
